No Soap
While soap and lather give you the slip to get a good shave, shaving creams and balms soften the hair too. Any shaving formulations with colloidal oatmeal, lanolin, olive oil, or vitamin E are great for softening skin and hair.
Some soaps can be drying too, making hair brittle ahead of shaving – meaning the hair could be brittle and not as easy to shave.
Exfoliation
When you have a layer of dead skin cells sitting on the skin, it prevents any of the oils and moisturizer from soaking into the skin. Exfoliating scrubs don’t need to be expensive; you can use sugar or salt and olive oil with some honey as a natural and budget-friendly option.
If you do want to invest in something with a bit more of a deep action, then body exfoliators with lactic acid, glycolic acid, or AHA.
Longer Solutions
Removing leg hair can be a chore because it takes only a short time to grow back. There are some longer-lasting solutions than shaving, though; you could consider waxing or laser hair removal. Choosing a longer-term solution will keep your legs feeling and looking smoother for longer.
Post-shower
You don’t have long when you get out of the shower or bath to infuse your skin with moisture. Lanolin, ceramides, and shea butter are some of the best options for post-shower skin care. As your skin begins to dry after the shower, it will lose some moisture, so make sure that you slather on your favorite cream quickly.
Knees & Ankles
Your knees and ankles are always going to need a little bit more attention when it comes to creams and oils. They are naturally a bit drier, so after applying your first layer, go back in and add a little more to those areas.
